The term "freelancer" comes from the early 19th Century. Originally, the term was a "free lance", which meant a knight or mercenary who was not sworn to any king or nation. A man free to use his lance in the name of anyone who was willing to pay his price for service. When his job was done or his patron refused to pay for his services, the man would leave and take on any other job he agreed to. In this day and age, that translates to not being tied to any specific company as an employee. You work for who you want to work for.

2011 in Review
Wow! What can I say? A year has already gone by since a very depressing journal around this time last year. Thanks to everyone (friends and strangers alike) who helped me get through a pretty difficult period. Your encouragement and condolences certainly meant a lot, and it helped me to move forward and mature as a person.
In my personal life I landed a full-time job, which was great from the perspective of a recent university graduate looking to earn a stable income. It wasn't so great cosplay wise. It took some time for me to adjust to a new schedu
